*Stoning….*

By Freek at 3:25 pm on Monday, October 16, 2006

Unbeknownst to me, I’ve been stoning here in school since 7.45am.

Well, actually, I’m not that stoned not to have noticed the time. I’m just on standby for the big marking thing happening in my school. So, until I’m called, I’ll just be stoning here in the staff room from 8-5. Not that I’m complaining. It’s a good time for me to catch up on a lot of stuff I have to finish. Marking of books, worksheets, powerpoint editings. Not to mention, getting time-off from the kids.

Managed to see some familiar faces who have come here to do the markings. Took the opportunity to give them the wedding invites. Saves me on stamp and transportation. Ahakz. Ah well, duit satu sen pun kalau dikumpul, boleh buat rumah batu, tau?

With 47 days left, am excited for the wedding reception. Most importantly, it’s what happens after the wedding that I’m anticipating. Nothing kinky here. Just excited that I don’t have to see my Dy walk home by himself everyday anymore after he sends me home. Excited also at the thought that we’ll be going for our first holiday together. A short, short honeymoon. Nowhere far. Just across the Causeway for now. But, yeah, it thrills me all the same.

And yeay! Our 5th/6th Raya together.. and our 1st as Mr & Mrs. It does sound real good to me. Alhamdullilah. All thanks to Him and her. *thanks, beb!*

*Schooling….*

By Freek at 1:32 pm on Friday, October 13, 2006

Some people think teaching is easy.

And that if you have the passion, everything is alright.

I guess, yeah, when you have the passion, you like kids, you’re wacky, it’s easy. But you’ve also gotta have another p. Patience.

I was quite scared when I heard that 3 teachers here are down by the same reason. Don’t know how true that is but that’s what I heard.

3 of them are expecting kids but 1 lost hers and another 2 had some bleeding and are to rest. Really sad for me to hear that. And at the same time, I’m a-thinking, are the kids really that horrible? What’ll happen when it’s my turn?

But as I think, just like office politics, anywhere too, there are bound to be kids who do suck blood. It’s time for me to have the second P to survive this profession.

Patience.

Ouh.. that is so not me.

Sigh…

Exam stress – Who gets it more?

Kid?

Or the teacher?

Sigh..

*Back in school….*

By Freek at 4:18 pm on Friday, October 6, 2006

The P1s were wonderfully erm.. wonderful today. I had my original class size, meaning the 30-odd, 6-7 year olds under my care. Despite that, it was so damn quiet. I am impressed. (Well, maybe because, THAT boy wasn’t here today. Heh..)

On the contrary, my 10 year-olds pushed the wrong buttons in me. As I wasn’t ready to use my voice yet, all I did was crush their unfinished work in front of them, and threw it to their face. Well, actually, to the ground. And I didn’t regret it one bit. The frigging kids had the cheek not to do their work despite my 2-day absence. Amik kau aku bagi kerja banyak lagi. Peduli apa aku. Dari aku sakit hati, baik kau yang sakit hati.

Oklah, I’m gonna get going. Didn’t even bring my hp to school today. Bleargh!

*Voice…over*

By Freek at 12:06 pm on Thursday, October 5, 2006

The first time I ever lost my voice was yesterday.

I’d been having the sore throat since Sunday. Skipped Monday for school holiday and on Tuesday, used my big voice, terribly often. Coughed and coughed. Me being me, I got too passionate at rehearsal and forced myself to sing with the kids. And even screamed at some for misbehaving.

So, as the time passed, a fever brewed and by the time I got home, I had fever, cough, phlegm and a runny nose.

When I woke up yesterday morning for sahur, I totally lost it. I could only speak in almost just a whisper and even when I tried to talk normally, a listener would hear me talk in a deep-voice, afterwhich, I would cough. Prolly due to puasa and all – lack of water in throat – and prolly even because of the haze.

(I almost believed that Dy’s complaints that I “nag” all the time, had become a wish..  =p but I’m sure he didn’t mean for me to be sick this way, aye? )

So, went down to doc’s. Got me covered for 2 days. Felt bad cos my kids will be running all over the place. But, well, I must get my voice back before the screaming starts again, shouldn’t I?

In any case, I’m feeling better.

And for those of you reading this who might wanna drop by my wedding this December, please email me your home addresses.

Kg Clan girls need not reply here. I will personally issue the cards to you when we meet up.  =p

And those whom Dy will invite, give your addresses to him, aight?

Aight, time to… hmm…
