*Hola….*

By Freek at 4:33 pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2007

It’s been a while.

Hehe. Like, what else is new, aye?

So, like, yeah, have been busy with work since exam papers will have to be handed up this week, decorations have to be up(since I have 3 classes and use 3 different classes, you do the Maths), worksheets to be printed, books to mark, admin stuff to clear, scripts to write for my 6s(so, I can make them act and not bore the life out of them), dances to choreograph, kompang to teach and of course, back home, a family life with a home almost 60% complete.

But yeah, comparing my other 2 girls – Witt and Tween-o – who are holding positions in the school, I have quite a relaxing life. Right now, I just got my school laptop back after the TA took it for RAM-upgrade. Hehe. Nice.

Anyways, today, marks an important day for Dy and I. Today, our relationship turns 6. =)

And we’ll be having a date today. So exciting!

*lol*

Aight, off to mark some books.

*Of first times…..*

The week has passed so quickly. I guess it’s true what they say. When you pass the 20-year mark, things just seem to fast-forward. Times 4 at that.

Anyways, yesterday, I went down to the Lustre office to get my lucky draw cheque. It was a hilarious event I tell ya. It’s like my first time on camera. Haha. A lady gave me and the other winners a piece of paper with some questions(emailed by Sujimy) to rehearse before they recorded us for the interview. First up was a guy representing his mum. Poor guy, he fumbled with his Malay, which inevitably made me so pressured to watch what I say being a Malay teacher and all.

The second interviewee was a ‘Mat’. He used ‘ah’, ‘macam’, ‘lah’ dengan secukup rasa. We all burst out laughing when he said the product made him look semakin berseri. Hehe. The 2 guys had to re-take their shots a couple of time. ‘Cut! We have to re-take that one again,’ the director said. And again. And again.
Then it was MY turn. And believe it or not when the director asked me one of the questions wrongly, I somehow, copied what she said.

Director: Apa perasaan awak bila dapati awak menang cabutan berTUA?

Me: Bila saya mendapat tahu dari emak saya yang saya menang dalam cabutan berTUA.. apa plak berTUA aku ni.. berTUAH lah…

Needless to say, it was a cut and a retake. But other than that, I pretty much completed 6 questions in 1 shot. When I finished, “Wah, lepas ni dah boleh berlakon pulaklah.. natural,” said one of the company workers. *lol* I almost rolled on the ground. For the life of me, if this was what I’d have to go through at every lucky draw win, I’d rather not win at all!

I just hope I turned out alright on camera. I seriously had no idea what I blabbered about and how horrendous my Malay was with the nerves getting to me. Hopefully, if they decided to take any of my shots for their adverts on TV or anything, it doesn’t look horrible.

I can almost imagine my kids say, “Chekgoo Suhainis! Saya nampak Chekgoo Suhainis ada kat TV!” if the interview was used for TV.

Let us all pray it doesn’t. For the sake of our language. *lol*

*3….*

By Freek at 8:02 am on Tuesday, January 16, 2007

It’s the start of the second day of the week. I need a massage. The trip to school is really taking a toll on me but once I step into school, I don’t really feel it until I take the trip home. Ah well, as long as I love it here, I can’t really complain now, can I? Else, he’ll make transfer. Heh.

************************************************

It gets weird here since it’s a dedication to Dy.

This is to Dy..

  1. Because you’re understanding. It’s sometimes difficult for me to explain myself – but you somehow understand. It’s sometimes difficult for me to control my anger – but you somehow understand. And it’s difficult for me to express myself – but you understand.
  2. Because you’re just the right size – not too big, not too small. And before people get the wrong idea, it means, I can embrace you and be embraced.(for those who still don’t get it, I’m talking about BODY size here.. =p)
  3. Because you’re you. Even if it was diffeicult for me to remember your face in the first few meetings, your face is the one constantly on my mind. Even if it was difficult to hear your mushy words in the beginning, those words are what make me smile when things are bad. Even if it was difficult for us to start and get through, those difficult times are what I learn from to make it better for us in future. Eventhough I’m me, you loved me. And I love you for that.
