*About being pregnant…*

By Freek at 11:30 pm on Tuesday, February 24, 2009

Shocked you, didn’t I? Hehe.

Nolah. I ain’t pregnant. Just wanted to touch the topic on pregnancy and stuff.

I’ve been surfing around, blog-hopping here and there and it’s so nice to see so many people I know getting pregnant and having babies and all. Congrats to the soon-tob-be mums and repeated-mums. Heh. Truly, I do miss being pregnant. Yes, even the times of severe dehydration and non-stop vomitting I had to endure during the first 3-5 months of pregnancy. However, I’m not saying that I wanna quickly get back into the band-wagon and all what with my little miracle still a tad too small to be an older sis. But you know, despite the labour woes and all the post-natal caesarean pain and burst stitch, being pregnant is one of the nicest feelings in the whole world next to falling in love and having wonderful friends.

At home, my little angel is getting her first cousin soon. Will pop out in prolly less than a month’s time or anytime now. One of Dy’s good friend is getting his first anytime now, too.

In school, between last year and this year, it has been a funny thing. Of the 4-5 ladies who recently gave birth, Aaliya was the only girl. Hehe. The other colleagues of mine gave birth to sons. Although it is still TOO early for me to do it, I think I shall just bask in the baby boy blessings. Sprinkle some to me, can? Who knows, whenever my next one is gonna be, it’ll be a boy? Not that getting another girl would not be a blessing. But if it’s a boy, then, factory can close down liao. Haha.

But of course, when it comes to being pregnant, we can’t really force people to be and keep asking them when they want to be. I mean, it’s a matter of personal choice. Take it from me, having been through a miscarriage and then trying to conceive again, I’ve been faced with lots of inconsiderate questions of when I’m going to get one and all that. I mean, hello! We’re trying to create a human being here. Things take time and it’s all with HIS will. Some words hurt like hell but you know, one’s gotta stay strong and block out negative auras such as those. I do believe a married woman has it in her the desire to be a mum but, I mean, hey, having a baby is not a matter of having sex and then?out comes?children. It’s a matter of financial planning, stabilising your marriage, managing emotions, juggling a career and also the taking care of the baby itself when he/she finally pops. There’s a lot to consider in bringing up a person in this world. Especially here in Singapore. Yeah?

Having said that, I’m thrilled that in just 3-4 days time, my little darling will be 9 months old! This Saturday, she’ll be having her 9-month assessment. I’m kinda stressed up on what the doc expects but, I’ll let her develop at her own speed. Praises be to God that she’s healthy. Could never ask for more.

And having said that, when the hoot is my menses gonna come, ni?

Oh well, it was late last month too. So, let’s stay positive.

*lol*

How?

Aaliya as Boo...

Hehe.

Sure, my baby can’t crawl yet. She can’t walk yet. She can’t carry herself up yet. Quit it already. I was that way too when I was a baby. But I turned out right, too, didn’t I? All babies develop differently. Stop putting pressure by comparing them at such a tender age.

One thing I know my baby’s good at, though, is helping put a smile to our faces after a long, torturous day at work.

So there.

Boo?

*My lesson in IRONY*

By Freek at 11:43 pm on Wednesday, February 11, 2009

I spoke these in Malay, in my cikgu-turned-monster mode.

Me: “Why did’t you come for remedial yesterday?!” (Kenapa awak tak datang remedial semalam?)

(other kids already start to close their ears since I’d already warned them of this impending outburst on the remedial lesson itself)

Kid: “My watch was spoiled.” (Jam saya rosak.)

At this moment, I swear, if perspiration could evaporate at top speed, my tudung would have flown off by the steam produced from my boiling blood. It was like, “ZENG!” The other kids just gasped in the absurdity of the words spoken and have decided rightly to place their fingers deeper into their ears. Cos’ what ensued, I shall not type here again cos’ even now, just remembering about it, my heart is doing a 100km/h race. Seriously, I’ve never rolled my eyes so much in my life, my heart never jogged so fast, and my upper teeth and lower teeth never came into such embrace as they did the moment those words were spoken.

And since I excel at shooting my mouth off, I had to really choose my words, ‘case I’d regret them later. Those ugly words were at the tip of my tongue, I tell you. But, I used all the strength I could to swallow them.

You know what really pushed my “DETONATE” button? It was the thought of how ridiculous it was for him to have gone home to pack his bag after school, claim that he didn’t come to remedial because his?watch was spoiled and?so he couldn’t tell the time but he could?STILL come in time for CCA later that day. Absolute crap I tell ya. Even the other kids agreed when I asked them, “Masuk akal tak, alasan dia?”.

ZENG sey kepala otak aku jadinya. Sakit jantung.

And the irony of it all…..

The day’s lesson: A comprehension passage about the heart (functions, diseases, exercise…)

*rolls eyes*
